Neste domingo aconteceu o Billboard Music Awards 2021, festa de premiação da revista e site de músicas. O prêmio é um dos mais das mais importates da música nos EUA. The Weeknd, Jonas Brothers, Doja Cat e outros artistas passaram pelo 'black carpet' e nós fizemos uma selação dos looks.
O evento acontece em Los Angeles, nos Estados Unidos, com presença de público ao ar livre e com máscaras, apresentado como anfitrião, Nick Jonas, dos Jonas Brothers.
The Weeknd foi o artista com mais indicações, em 16 categorias e, levou dez prêmios para casa, incluindo o principal da noite. Na lista dos premiáveis, Lady Gaga, BTS, e Taylor Swift, que não faturou o de artista do ano, mas foi escolhida como a Top Female Artista, principal premiação para artista feminina, e Top Billboard 200.
A festa transmitida pelo canal TNT e contou com apresentações da Pink, Trae Tha Truth, The Weeknd, BTS, Duran Duran, Karol G, Bad Bunny, Alicia Keys, AJR, Glass Animals, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, The Sounds Of Blackness, Ann Nesby, H.E.R, DJ Khaled, Migos e Drake.
A cantora Pink foi homenageada com o ICON Award e Drake com o troféu de Artista da Década.

Com 16 indicações, a voz de "Blinding Lights" chegou ao black carpet como vencedor, pois antes mesmo do início da premiação, saiu vitorioso em sete categorias: Top Artista Masculino, Top Artista das Rádios, Top Álbum de R&B, Top Single R&B, Top Artista R&B, Top Artista Masculino R&B, Top Música tocadas nas Rádios. Ao longo da noite, ganhou ainda "Top Artista da Hot 100", "Top Música Hot 100" e "Top Artista", fechando em 10 troféus.
Entre outros destaques da premiação está Pop Smoke, morto em fevereiro de 2020. O rapper norte-americano venceu cinco categorias, enquanto BTS e Bad Bunny ganharam quatro estatuetas.
